Applications begin with the NON-RESIDENT GUIDED HUNT. This hunt can now be combined with residents. It is higher priced, however, it also creates a greater chance of drawing a tag. If you are not successful in this draw, there is time allowed to put your name in for the regular season draw. These application are available online beginning in mid-February with the deadline in mid-March.
Applications then follow in March for the regular hunts. All big game tags are on a draw system, with the exception of Mountain Lion. Call or email for more information. The seasons and dates, as well as, quota numbers are not set until later.
IMPLEMENTED IN 2007: You may only apply for one deer hunt, either the NON-RESIDENT GUIDED DEER HUNT or the regular NON-RESIDENT DEER HUNT. Those applying for the NON-RESIDENT GUIDED DEER HUNT who may be unsuccessful CANNOT then apply in the regular NON-RESIDENT DEER HUNT application process. REMINDER: Those hunters, born in 1960 or later, when applying for tags, make sure to attach a copy of your hunter safety card with your application. Without it you will be ineligible for the draw. Also, if you wish to apply as a party you must staple your applications together for NDOW and write in the number of people in your party in the box provided. READ DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY, A SIMPLE OMISSION OF A ZIP CODE CAN MAKE YOUR APPLICAITON INELIGIBLE.

Children between 12 and 16 who would love to hunt, bring them along free of charge. There's nothing we like more than to see young children hunting with their parents. Children over 12 are permitted to draw for tags provided they have attended a HUNTER SAFETY COURSE and have a proof of certification.
